Systemic Pain
There is a two-way relationship between the health of your internal organs and the health of the muscles and bones that house the blood and nerve vessels that serve them. If you are in pain you probably don't care about which came first in a chicken and egg stylee, and nor do I. I just treat the muscles and bones, and by acheiving relaxed muscles and a balanced skeleton, the circulatory and nervous systems that supply your body will have the room to operate and resume healthly activity.
To give you an example I had a lady come in with bad IBS. Most times she ate she bloated and had terrible pain, especially after the evening meal. The fascia in her lower back was really thickened, and I think this had possibly occured to protect her during pregnancy and she had weak core strength when I tested that too. This thick fascia, which was trying to help was now hindering her mobility and she had quite a lot of dysfunction in her spine. By using myoskeletal alignment techniques, overseeing some core strengthening exercises, and just relaxing her with some deep tissue massage her IBS complaint went away. Super. Oh, and I gave her some dietry advice too.
